Going the Distance for Every Community Member

Learn about our transportation services

Not being able to go from place to place on your own can severely limit your feelings of independence. Just because you can no longer drive, doesn't mean you can't get around. Calcasieu Council on Aging has been providing transportation services for elderly and disabled people since 2015. Our services are completely free of charge, but donations are always appreciated.

Are you a senior over the age of 60 or someone with a disability? Reach out to us now by calling 337-474-2583 and asking for the Transit Department. Priority is given to non-emergency medical appointments on a first come, first serve basis.

Helping others through community support

Helping others through community support

Our goal is to provide transportation services to as many community members as possible. As proud recipients of a 5317 grant through the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we now have two 12-passenger handicap-accessible buses. Each bus has wheelchair lifts and two wheelchair spaces. We've also received a 5310 grant, which allowed us to purchase third bus that accommodates eight passengers.
